Narsingdi: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair today claimed that there is no conflict among the government, Jamaat-e-Islami, and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). “There is no conflict among us. The election should be held within a reasonable time after completion of logical reforms. This reasonable time means the end of this year or the beginning of next year,” he said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Jamaat leader made these remarks during a conference of ward presidents and secretaries of the district Jamaat at Nagriyakandi UMC Adarsha High School in the Sadar Upazila. Zubair highlighted that six months have already passed since the country was liberated from dictatorship and fascism, emphasizing the importance of unity among the people. He noted that the public does not desire division and that national-level leaders are cautious, even when making contradictory statements, as these do not create enmity or foster a return to autocracy.
Addressing the issue of contradictory statements made by the government’s advisers and leaders of Jamaat and BNP, Zubair stated, “Everyone has to speak carefully so that people do not get confused. BNP wants elections, we want the same. There is no big division between us.” The conference was attended by Jamaat Office Secretary AFM Abdus Sattar and Narayanganj City Jamaat Ameer Abdul Jabbar, who were present as special guests. The event was chaired by Narsingdi District Jamaat Ameer Maulana Musleh Uddin and conducted by Narsingdi District Jamaat Secretary General Maulana Amjad Hossain. Approximately two thousand leaders and workers from different units of the district participated in the event.
