NPL Cricket 2025: Kathmandu Posts 166-Run Victory Target Before Pokhara


Kathmandu: Kathmandu Gorkhas have set a target of 166 runs for Pokhara Avengers in today’s first match under the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) currently underway at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium in the capital. Kathmandu, batting first after losing the toss, scored 165 runs at the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Ben Charlesworth and Bhim Sarki played half-century innings. Ben was out for 64 and Bhim for 55. Dhananjay Lakshan took four wickets, while captain Kushal Bhurtel took two wickets for Pokhara.



Pokhara, having gained only four points from five games, is under pressure to win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Kathmandu, on the other hand, has gained eight points from six games. In the final match of the league stage, Kathmandu wants to secure a win to ensure their place in the playoffs.



In the second match to be held at 4.00pm today, Sudurpaschim Royals will compete against Chitwan Rhinos. Eight teams are participating in the tournament, which started on November 17.
