NTB and Nepal Airlines Collaborate for Global Tourism Promotion

Kathmandu: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Nepal Airlines Corporation have signed a memorandum of understanding for the joint promotion of Nepal’s tourism in the international market.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the agreement outlines collaboration efforts on digital campaigns for tourism fairs, familiarization trips, mega events, and branding activities. Nepal Airlines will be designated as a ‘partner airline’ in promotional events such as tourism fairs, sales missions, roadshows, and press conferences abroad. Additionally, the airline will transport up to 100 kg of publicity materials free of charge to various flight destinations.

The partnership includes a gift ticketing scheme for joint programs, aimed at generating a positive message internationally. Familiarization trips will feature celebrities, journalists, bloggers, and tour operators for enhanced visibility. Events in Nepal will also invite foreign artists, film producers, sports persons, and celebrities to further promote the country’s tourism.

Following the signing ceremony, NTB Chief Executive Officer Deepak Raj Joshi described the agreement as a milestone for enhancing Nepal’s global image and expanding its reach. He emphasized the pride associated with Nepal Airlines and the strategic collaboration’s role in establishing a ‘Nepali brand’ and promoting tourism in Nepal. Joshi highlighted the importance of integrated promotion in creating a unique identity for Nepal and its role in sustainable tourism development.

Both agencies have agreed to conduct progress reviews every six months to assess the initiative’s impact and make necessary adjustments.
