Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested an alleged arms trader and also seized a pistol, two one shooter guns, two magazines, four bullets in a drives in Naogaon on Wednesday night.
The arrested person was Md. Masud Rana Liton, 48 of Talaimari under Boalia thana in Rajshahi district.
RAB said, acting on a tip off, an operation team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp conducted a raid at Chowrapara village under Rasul union of Niamatpur upazila in Naogaon district at around 8-45 pm and arrested Masud Rana with the arms and ammunition.
Later RAB handed him over to the police of Niamatpur thana with a case.
Another team of the elite force raided Powel Islampur area in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila at around 10-30 pm and recovered nine kg of hemp in an abandoned condition.
