Gorkha: Out of three Italian nationals who were trapped on Pangbari Mountain in the Gorkha district for the past five days, one has been successfully rescued, while the search for the other two continues. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Raj Kumar Shrestha, reported that Velter Paralion, aged 65, was airlifted from the base camp, which is situated at an altitude of 5,000 meters, by a helicopter earlier today. He was brought to Chumanubri-1, Samdo, at 10:00 am.
According to National News Agency Nepal, alongside the Italian climber, three Nepali helpers-Pemba Renzi Sherpa, Dawa Chhiri Sherpa, and Pasang Tamang-were also rescued. Efforts are currently focused on locating the remaining two Italian nationals, who are believed to be at Camp-1, located at a height of 5,500 meters.
The three Italian climbers, along with their Nepali aides, have been stranded at the base camp since Wednesday. The ongoing search operation aims to ensure the safe retrieval of the remaining climbers from the mountain.
