Lamjung: A worker was killed and three others were injured in a landslide that occurred at the construction site of the Super Nyadi Hydropower Project in Lamjung. The project, which has a capacity of 40.27 MW, is currently under construction in the region.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Ramesh Bohora, Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Lamjung District Police Office, reported that the landslide took place in the afternoon, resulting in the death of 44-year-old Lagan Dhowj Gurung. Gurung was temporarily residing in Besisahar Municipality-8 in the district at the time of the incident.
The injured workers include 21-year-old Biraj Gurung of Dordi Rural Municipality-5, 35-year-old Pritam Lama of Madhya Nepal Municipality-7, both from Lamjung district, and 25-year-old Bikash Bista of Jhimruk Rural Municipality-6 from Pyuthan District. The injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Bensisahar.
The landslide occurred during the lunch hour while a total of 40 workers were residing at a nearby camp, as stated by the police.
