Participation in Sports Stressed for Physical, Mental Well-Being

Rangpur: Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rangpur, Mohammad Rabiul Faisal, emphasized the importance of regular participation in sports for maintaining both mental and physical well-being. He highlighted that engaging in sports fosters discipline, unity, and leadership skills among individuals, and he encouraged students to balance their academic pursuits with skill development in sports.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DC shared these insights during the inaugural ceremony of the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament for both boys and girls. The event, part of the ‘Youth Festival 2025,’ was held at the district level at Rangpur Stadium. The tournament was organized by the Rangpur District Administration and the District Primary Education Office.

The ceremony, attended by government officials, teachers, students, guardians, and journalists, was presided over by District Primary Education Officer Md Nazrul Islam. Notable figures such as Divisional Deputy Director of the Directorate of Primary
Education Md Azizur Rahman and Rangpur Superintendent of Police Abu Md Saim also addressed the gathering as special guests.

Nine boys’ teams and nine girls’ teams from various upazilas within the district, as well as Rangpur City Corporation, are competing in this tournament. The event began with an inauguration ceremony where the chief guest, along with other dignitaries, released balloons to mark the start of the competition.
