PM Karki Calls for Regular Dialogue Among Government, Political Parties, and Gen Z Groups

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has emphasized the need for ongoing consultations and the exchange of ideas between the government, political parties, and Gen Z groups. During a tripartite discussion at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, PM Karki urged attendees to engage in thorough discussions, stressing the importance of collective efforts to address the country’s challenges.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the meeting was convened by PM Karki to foster an atmosphere conducive to the upcoming election. She highlighted the necessity of frequent dialogues, stating, “Let us exchange all opinions. This is our country. We are the ones to build our nation. No one will come to build our nation if we do not make it. Only one discussion does not work, it should be frequent. We have started and will continue it,” as per the statement from the PM’s secretariat.

This meeting marks the first initiative taken by PM Karki to create a meaningful dialogue platform with the aim of facilitating electoral processes. Representatives from Gen Z groups underscored the necessity of conducting elections but emphasized that electoral rhetoric alone is insufficient. They called for the establishment of good governance and urged the government to take decisive action against corruption.

Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Dr. Mahabir Pun, and Minister of Communications, Information and Technology Jagdish Kharel represented the government in the meeting. Party leaders such as Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Barshaman Pun, Madhav Sapkota, Prakash Adhikari, and various other political figures also participated. Minister Jagadish Kharel is set to organize a press briefing to discuss the topics addressed and the conclusions reached during the meeting.
