Baluwatar: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Gianluigi Buffon, the former captain of the Italian national football team, met this morning at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Buffon is in Nepal to attend the concluding programme of the KP Oli Cup Football Championship. Buffon has been invited as the Chief Guest for the event, which is organized by the National Youth Federation Nepal. Known for his illustrious career as one of the finest goalkeepers in football history, Buffon’s presence has garnered significant attention.
In addition to the Prime Minister and Buffon, several other notable figures attended the meeting. First Lady Radhika Shakya, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal Ek Narayan Aryal, President of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) Pankaj Rai, President of National Youth Federation Nepal Kshitij Thebe, and Buffon’s family members were present on the occasion.
The KP Oli Cup Football Championship, which commenced on February 23, is set to conclude this evening at the Dashrath Stadium, marking the end of a significant event in Nepal’s football calendar.
