Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has resigned from his position. PM Oli decided to step down due to the challenging situation that has emerged in the country, as stated by PM Oli’s secretariat.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Oli, who assumed the role of Prime Minister on July 15, 2024, under Article 76(2) of the Constitution of Nepal, has officially resigned. His resignation, effective immediately, aligns with Article 77(1)(a) of the constitution, aiming for a constitutional political resolution to the ongoing issues.
Oli, who serves as the Chairman of the CPN (UML), secured his latest term as Prime Minister with backing from the Nepali Congress and other parties.
