PM Oli Unveils Uprety’s Autobiography ‘Mera Atitka Kathaharu’


Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today unveiled ‘Mera Atitka Kathaharu’ (The Stories of My Past) by former Chancellor of the Nepal Academy, Ganga Prasad Uprety. While launching the autobiography, PM Oli expressed his belief that Uprety’s new work could serve as a source of inspiration for the new generation for raising awareness, noting the longstanding commitment of the writer towards the country under any given circumstances.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Prime Minister referred to litterateur Uprety as being from the same ancestral place, Aathrai in Terahthum district, and mentioned their shared history as fellow prisoners during their formative political life. The Head of the Government also shared that he entered politics with an intention to bring about changes and to improve the lives of people, by giving up his college life.



The book, published by Makalu Publications, chronicles the life and times of Uprety. On the occasion of the book launching, former Chancellor of Nepal Academy Bairagi Kaila, former member-secretary of the Nepal Academy Prof Jagat Prasad Upadhyay, and Nepal Education Council’s Chairperson Rama Sharma, among others, reviewed the newly launched autobiography.
