Pokhara-Muglin Road Construction Progresses with 18-Km Blacktopped in Western Section


Pokhara: Blacktopping of at least 18 kilometers (two lanes) has been completed on the western section of the Pokhara-Muglin road, specifically between Pokhara and Jamune. One-way blacktopping has been finished on 37 kilometers of the 38-kilometer stretch to date.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the engineer of the section, Sahanshila Kayastha, has reported that the road’s physical progress has reached 59.89 percent, while the financial progress stands at 47.80 percent. “Two-way blacktopping has been completed on 29.61 kilometers of four-lane road, and one-way blacktopping on 7.79 kilometers of two-lane road,” she informed.



In the current fiscal year, 14 kilometers of blacktopping have been completed, along with the construction of two culverts. Additionally, 11 out of 12 bridges and 105 culverts have been constructed in the western section of the road.



The road infrastructure in city areas will include six lanes, incorporating a ‘service lane,’ while elsewhere, it will consist of four lanes. The stretch from Seti Bridge in Pokhara to Lower Gagangaun is planned to feature six lanes.
