Pokhrel Assigned with Responsibility of UML Acting Chair.

Kathmandu: Senior Vice Chair of CPN (UML) Ishwor Pokhrel has been assigned to take charge as the party’s Acting Chair. This development comes as the current Party Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli embarked on a four-day official visit to China, during which he entrusted Pokhrel with the responsibilities of the acting chair.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the decision to appoint Pokhrel as the Acting Chair was made in line with Clause 21 (2) of the party’s Statute 2049 BS (2078 BS Amendment). This statute provision allows for the delegation of duties in the absence of the party chair, ensuring the smooth functioning of party operations during Oli’s absence.

Prime Minister Oli’s visit to China is part of his ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and explore potential areas of cooperation between the two nations. He is scheduled to return home on December 5, at which point he will resume his duties as both the Prime Minister and the CPN (UML) Party Chair.
