Police Confiscate 1,300 Kilos of Cannabis in Sunsari in Four Months.


Sunsari: The Armed Police Force (APF) Number 4 Battalion in Sunsari has confiscated 1,300 kilogrammes of cannabis in the four months of the current fiscal year starting from July 16. Superintendent of APF Number 4 Battalion, Samenanda Bajracharya, announced that this volume of contraband was seized under the Drug Control Campaign launched by the APF Sunsari.

According to National News Agency Nepal, APF personnel stationed at the border area managed to confiscate the cannabis based on a tip-off while it was being smuggled out towards the Indian market through the open border. In addition to cannabis, the APF also seized 91.79 grammes of Brown Sugar and 18,450 pieces of Traumanil. Superintendent Bajracharya stated that the confiscated drugs have been handed over to Nepal Police for disposal.
