Kathmandu: A Polish tourist and a local resident have been successfully rescued from the Manaslu region, following separate incidents that necessitated immediate evacuation by helicopter.
According to National News Agency Nepal, 36-year-old Polish tourist Adam Bartosz Pasierbek, identified by passport number FE 0468919, was airlifted from Chumunubri-4, Namrung, to Kathmandu at 13:00 on Monday. Pasierbek had been exploring the area with the assistance of the Mountain Sun Valley Trek Company.
In a related incident, Tasi Bhuti Lama, a 74-year-old resident from Dyangki, Chhumnubri Rural Municipality-5, was also rescued by helicopter. Lama sustained severe injuries to her head, face, and skin following a bear attack on Sunday. Ward chairperson Kalden Chewang reported that Lama was promptly airlifted to Kathmandu for urgent medical treatment.
