Political Parties Must Adhere to Democratic Values and Ideals: Former President Bhandari


Kathmandu: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari emphasized the necessity for political parties to internalize democratic values, norms, and ideals, irrespective of challenging circumstances. She made these remarks during the launch of the book ‘KP Sharma Oli: Dreams, Struggles and Resolutions.’



According to National News Agency Nepal, Bhandari highlighted the CPN (UML)’s commitment to pluralism and multi-party competition, noting its efforts to achieve political superiority and drive socio-economic transformation. She described the UML as a party rooted in the people, characterized by discipline, dedication, experienced leadership, and a commitment to prosperity.



Bhandari praised UML Chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for his role in democratizing the UML, unifying the communist movement, and strengthening the party by overcoming internal factions. She expressed confidence that the newly launched book would illuminate Oli’s dreams, struggles, and determination to bring prosperity to the nation and its people.



The event also saw contributions from UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, former Minister Nilambar Acharya, Senior Cardiologist Dr. Bhagwan Koirala, artist Prakash Saput, senior journalist Kanakmani Dixit, and President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chandra Dhakal, who shared insights into Prime Minister Oli’s personality and accomplishments.



Journalist Ganesh Pandey, the author of the book, mentioned that it was crafted to reflect the public’s perception of Prime Minister Oli and the developmental strides made by the country under his leadership.
