Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has returned home today after completing an official visit to Thailand and attending the 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC). Upon his arrival, he was welcomed at the VVIP Lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey, along with high-ranking government officials and chiefs of security agencies.
According to National News Agency Nepal, a contingent of the Nepali Army accorded a guard of honour to the Prime Minister prior to his departure. Prime Minister Oli embarked on this visit to Thailand on April 1, leading a 21-member delegation at the invitation of Thailand’s Prime Minister, Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
During his stay, Prime Minister Oli engaged in discussions with leaders from various countries, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, focusing on issues of mutual welfare and interest. He also addressed the 6th BIMSTEC Summit on April 4, contributing to discussions aimed at enhancing regional cooperation.
