Kathmandu:Prime Minister Balendra Shah has emphasized the unifying power of Dashain, stating that the festival brings together people from various communities and regions, thereby strengthening unity and harmony across Nepal’s diverse society.
According to National News Agency RSS, PM Shah conveyed in his greetings message on the occasion of Bada Dashain, also known as Bijaya Dashami, that the festival is an opportunity for reconnection with friends and relatives, renewing cherished bonds of affection.
The Prime Minister extended his heartfelt wishes to all Nepalis, both at home and abroad, wishing them happiness, peace, prosperity, and continued progress. He also called for collective efforts to tackle issues such as corruption, poor governance, bureaucratic delays, inequality, and political disorder.
In his message, Shah urged for unity in overcoming societal ills, emphasizing the importance of honest efforts, determination, and collective hard work. He highlighted the need for change not only in thinking but also in behavior to bring about positive transformations.
Shah also mentioned the tradition of receiving tika, jamara, and blessings from elders on Vijaya Dashami, noting that the festival inspires triumph over evil and success in good deeds.
