Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has emphasized the need for collective effort in addressing the nation’s pressing issues, calling for unity among all parties and stakeholders. The Prime Minister’s remarks came after receiving a memorandum from a delegation led by Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden at the official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Karki highlighted the importance of safeguarding the country’s achievements and avoiding the creation of new challenges. “We all sides should unite on the national issues. We had several disputes. Also, we witnessed a massive loss,” the Prime Minister’s press coordinator, Ram Bahadur Rawal, quoted her as saying. She urged that any discontent should be addressed by taking agendas to the people and implementing them upon approval.
The Prime Minister also addressed the issue of impunity, stating that it was unacceptable for her government. She expressed concern over the loss of innocent lives on the roads and assured that the recommendations from the probe commission regarding these incidents would be implemented.
Furthermore, PM Karki stressed the need to control excessive election spending and called on the RPP and other political parties to adopt austerity measures during elections, signaling a move towards more responsible political campaigning.
