Prof Mohammad Ali Azadi Appointed VC of IIUC


Chittagong: Professor Dr Mohammad Ali Azadi has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC).



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, President Mohammed Shahabuddin, who is also the chancellor of the university, approved the appointment of Prof. Mohammad Ali Azadi for a four-year term. This decision was made as per Section 31(1) of the Private University Act 2010, as detailed in a gazette notification signed by Deputy Secretary Rokhsana Begum.



Before his appointment as VC, Prof Mohammad Ali was serving as the acting vice-chancellor of the university. He has a long-standing association with the institution, having joined as a lecturer in the botany department in 1980. Prof Mohammad Ali was born in 1954 in Pashchim Keshua village under Chandanaish upazila in the Chattogram district. His academic journey began with an honors degree in botany in 1976, followed by a master’s degree in 1979.
