Proposed CDC and FDA to Enhance Health System


Ljubljana:Minister for Health and Food Safety, Nisha Mehata, emphasized that the proposed Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), and National Health Accreditation Authority of Nepal (NHAA) will play a crucial role in enhancing disease control, drug and food regulation, and improving the quality of health services.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Mehata also stressed the importance of maintaining the expertise, human resources, and experience of existing institutions when establishing these new structures.



During a workshop on the establishment of the CDC, FDA, and NHAA, Minister Mehata pointed out the necessity of addressing ambiguities and inconsistencies in current drug and food regulations to ensure effective regulation of drugs, vaccinations, health equipment, and disease testing kits.
