Kathmandu: The ‘Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund’, established by the government for the reconstruction of physical structures damaged during the Gen-Z protest on September 8 and 9, has so far received Rs 62.4 million.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Spokesperson at the Finance Ministry, Tanka Prasad Pandey, confirmed that this amount was deposited in the fund by Monday evening. The protests led to the damage of various physical structures, including those of public and government offices, as well as local levels and private sector properties.
The government has appealed to the general public, private sector, Non-Resident Nepalis, development partners, donor agencies, industrialists, and different organizations to contribute to the reconstruction effort. For this purpose, a bank account has been opened at Rastriya Banijya Bank, Singha Durbar branch, with the account number 1960100102070004.
