Jeddah: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr A F M Khalid Hossain today visited the four-day ‘Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition’ in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Saudi Hajj and Umrah Minister Dr Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-rabiah welcomed him there.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was inaugurated by Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz. Religious ministers, ambassadors, and representatives from 87 countries participated in the conference and exhibition. The Bangladeshi delegation, led by the religious adviser, engaged in the conference activities and later toured the stalls of various Hajj transportation and service companies.
The conference and exhibition drew more than 300 local and international organizations that showcased their innovations and technologies designed to enhance the Hajj and Umrah experience. The exhibition topics covered logistics, transportation, crowd management, accommodation, hospitality, and catering.
On the sidelines of the conference, an agreement was signed between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. The agreement, signed by the religious adviser of Bangladesh and the minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, will allow 87,100 Bangladeshi pilgrims to perform Hajj this year.
