Road Repairs Intensified Ahead of Festival Season

Bharatpur:Efforts to repair national highways and rural roads have been intensified by the Road Division Office in Bharatpur to accommodate the increased vehicular movement expected during the upcoming festivals.

According to National News Agency Nepal, these repairs have been necessitated by damages caused by floods, landslides, and rainfall. The office has accelerated the repair work to ensure easier travel for the public.

Krishna Prasad Acharya, the Information Officer at the Road Division Office, stated that highways and local roads are being maintained to facilitate safe travel. He noted that while regular maintenance is ongoing, there is a heightened focus on road repairs this year.

Acharya emphasized the office’s goal to create a safe environment for travelers. He mentioned that several road sections, including Narayangadh-Muglin, Narayangadh-Lothar, Bharatapur-Madi, Bharatpur-Meghauli, and Nawalpur-Kaligandaki, are undergoing regular maintenance, with most already repaired.

The road defects are attributed to persistent rain and vehicles exceeding the roads’ load-bearing capacity. The methods used to restore the roads include emulsion patch and rectifix patch.
