Rs 10 Million Budget Allocated for Tarigaun Airport Development

Tulsipur: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has allocated a budget of Rs 10 million for the Tarigaun Airport in Tulsipur, Dang.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Deputy Mayor of the Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City, Syani Chaudhary, revealed that the ministry has also requested the Ministry of Finance to secure an additional budget of Rs 990 million.

Established in 2011 BS, Tarigaun Airport currently faces limitations as it cannot accommodate large aircraft. The runway, which is currently 750 meters long, requires expansion to 1,500 meters to allow the landing of 72-seater aircraft. At present, only 19-seater aircraft can operate at the airport.

Deputy Mayor Chaudhary emphasized that preparations are underway to commence the expansion work, highlighting that the current small aircraft have not been able to fully benefit from the airport facilities. Recently, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli visited the airport, indicating the government’s interest in its development.
