RSS Chair Jha stresses on campaign for promoting rights of Madhesh


Executive Chairperson of National News Agency (RSS), Dharmendra Jha, has underlined the need to step up a campaign in protecting the interests of the Madhesh and Madheshi people.

In his address to an intellectual dialogue organised by the Maithili Association Nepal, Biratnagar on Saturday, the senior journalist called on political party leaders to develop a common minimum programme that addresses the issues concerning the Madhesh.

He highlighted the need to secure policies, programmes, and budgets in support of the Madheshi community people by promoting their right to education and enhancing political awareness, among others.

Senior political analyst CK Lal discussed the political, socio-cultural, economic, and educational dimensions of the Madhesh.

Former Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Shiva Kumar Mandal and other speakers underscored the need for intellectuals and political leaders from the Maithili community to collaborate in advancing the social and political rights of Madhesh citizens and t
heir awareness levels in various ways.

Association Chair Pravin Narayan Chaudhary advocated for increased rights, prosperity, and political engagement of the Madheshi community.—
