‘Sekmuri Phool’ with Vivid Description of Mundhumi Philosophy Released

Kathmandu: Fiction writer Manu Yonghang has come up with his eighth literary creation, “Sekmuri Phool,” a novel based on Mundhum and Buddhist philosophies, scholarship, and dialogues. The book was unveiled amidst a function here on Saturday.

According to National News Agency Nepal, former Chancellor of Nepal Academy, Bairagi Kainla, who released the book, stated that the novel introduces the country’s existing life philosophies along with the Buddhist and Limbu philosophies. He mentioned that the novel carries mythical and stylistic diversities, allowing readers to understand what the Mundhum philosophy is and clarifying other issues of life philosophy. “It gives a clear understanding of the depth of our knowledge,” Kainla added.

Novelist Yonghang expressed confidence that his book would be useful to readers from all communities. “I have attempted to share the Mundhuli contexts with the readers,” he said, adding that the fiction is based on the time and context of the Buddhist era and the ancient Theravada Hinayana sect.

Litterateur Krishna Dharabasi shared his thoughts on the book, stating that it, being based on Mundhumi philosophy, would contribute to a closer interaction with the strong aspects of our philosophies. Dr. Sanjeev Humagain, Anupama Regmi, and Dipak Lungeli Magar also shared their commentaries, arguing that the writer has made efforts to convey the norms and values of life.

Sekmuri Phool is also considered a symbol of life in the Kirat Mundhum.
