Seven Gamblers Arrested in Khandbari for Illegal Activities


Khandbari: Seven gamblers have been arrested from Khandbari municipality-1 of Sankhuwasabha.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Sankhuwasabha, Kumar Prasad Mainali, reported that the arrests were made on Sunday night following a tip-off. The individuals were apprehended while gambling at a hotel owned by Jit Kumar Rai.



In addition to the arrests, law enforcement officials seized Rs 172,935 and four decks of cards from the scene. Mainali confirmed that further investigation into the gambling activities is currently underway. Alongside these developments, two individuals were also apprehended with firecrackers in their possession.



A separate operation led by a team from the District Police Office resulted in the detention of two individuals accused of involvement in smuggling animal hides. The accused are identified as Sujan Chaudhary, 18, from Itahari municipality-10, and Jamal Ansari, 48, from Kohi rural municipality-3 in Sunsari. Both suspects are currently residing in Khandbari-1. Police have stated that investigations into this case are also ongoing.
