Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has awarded six municipalities for their outstanding performance in the past year. The awards were presented on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the Municipality Association of Nepal (MuAN).
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prime Minister Oli presented the best award to Thakurbaba Municipality of Bardiya for its achievements in institutional development, service delivery, and financial good governance. This recognition highlights the municipality’s commitment to enhancing governance and services for its residents.
In addition, Siddharthanagar Municipality of Rupandehi was recognized for its excellence in urban planning, infrastructure, and disaster management. This award underscores the municipality’s proactive approach to urban development and its preparedness in managing potential disasters.
Kalaiya Sub-municipal Corporation was also honored for its remarkable contributions to social development. This accolade is a testament to the corporation’s efforts in fostering social growth and community engagement.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister acknowledged Madhyapur Thimi Municipality, Gaindakot Municipality of Nawalparasi, and Ghodaghodi Municipality of Kailali for their initiatives in environment, culture, tourism promotion, and economic development. These municipalities have demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing their local economies and preserving cultural and environmental heritage.
