Skill Development Fair Aims to Transform Youth Employment

Itahari:Speaker Dol Parasad Aryal emphasized the importance of transforming skills into employment during the inauguration of the Skill and Employment Fair in Itahari.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Speaker Aryal stressed the necessity of strengthening the country’s economy through employment and highlighted the need for youths to be developed as skilled, productive individuals who create employment rather than just seeking jobs. He pointed out the current challenge where youths are compelled to seek overseas employment due to a mismatch between the domestic labor market’s demands and the skills of available human resources.

The event was inaugurated by Minister for Youths, Labour and Employment, Ramji Yadav. The fair featured cultural performances, including Tharu dance and the Naumati musical instrument. Additionally, a special panel discussion titled ‘Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Entrepreneur SAARC Dialogue’ aimed to attract youths towards entrepreneurship.

The primary objective of the fair is to facilitate direct connections between employers and training providers by identifying the skills of youths. The event includes a five-day practical training program in ten different thematic areas, scheduled from October 1-5.
