Kathmandu: Chairperson of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives, Ramhari Khatiwada, tendered his resignation today. Khatiwada submitted his resignation to Speaker Devraj Ghimire.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Khatiwada had previously announced his intention to resign during a lower house meeting on Tuesday. The decision comes as Khatiwada faced increasing pressure following the release of a parliamentary committee report. The report investigated the alteration of the ‘cooling-off’ period in the Committee’s report on the Civil Service Bill, prompting calls for Khatiwada to step down on moral grounds.
