Supreme Court Declines Interim Order on Sudurpaschim Finance Bill

Jakarta:The Supreme Court refused to issue an interim order on a writ petition concerning the Finance Bill in the Sudurpashim Province Assembly, which could not be amended alongside a review.

According to National News Agency Nepal, a division bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Balkrishna Dhakal decided not to entertain the petition for an interim order. The court indicated that the question of whether the Finance Bill could be revised along with a review would be resolved during the final adjudication of the writ petition.

Advocate Maniram Upadhyay had filed the petition at the Supreme Court, seeking an interim order, arguing against the revision or review of the Finance Bill registered in the Province Assembly following a change in government. The government of Sudurpashim Province had changed on July 13, subsequent to the presentation of the province budget on June 15.
