Satkhira: Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Tarique Rahman, announced today that his party intends to form an inclusive government if they are elected in the upcoming election. Rahman emphasized that the new government would prioritize the rights of those oppressed over the past 17 years, as well as ensure the rights of individuals from various religious backgrounds.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rahman made these remarks while virtually addressing a workshop focused on building a state structure in line with the party’s 31-point demands at Tufan Convention Centre in the district town. The event was organized by the BNP Central Training Affairs Committee.
Rahman clarified that the 31-point demands are a collective effort, created in consultation with the BNP’s political alliance, which includes a variety of parties. He stressed that the BNP is not solely linked to prominent figures like Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman or Khaleda Zia, but is a party for the people, including its leaders and activists across the nation.
In his address, Rahman urged party members to disseminate the 31-point demands to households nationwide ahead of the general election. He also promised infrastructure improvements, such as building a railway line in Satkhira district, and proposed financial support cards for women to aid in their children’s education and healthcare needs, should the BNP come to power.
The workshop was attended by several notable BNP figures, including BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and former Secretary Md Ismail Zabiullah, Central Publication Secretary and former Lawmaker Habibul Islam Habib, and Training Affairs Secretary ABM Mosharraf Hossain, among others. Satkhira District BNP Convener Adv. Syed Iftekhar Ali chaired the event, which also featured participation from local BNP leaders and former student leaders.
