Kathmandu: The Nepal Telecom is making significant strides in expanding its telecommunication services across the remote areas of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Madhes provinces. The organization has reported improvements in access to network expansion and 4G services in these rural locales.
According to National News Agency Nepal, a new 4G LTE tower has been installed in Budhinanda Municipality, Bajura, enabling the commencement of high-speed 4G internet services. This development is expected to directly benefit residents in wards no. 7, 8, 9, and 10 of the municipality, as shared by local resident Narendra Mahat.
Telecommunication services have also reached remote settlements in Thulibheri and Shey Phoksundo areas in Dolpa district. Nabaraj Bhattarai, a technician at the NT Office in Dolpa, confirmed the availability of 4G and internet services, extending communication facilities to several villages, including Phoksundo trail and Yarsha Patan.
Recent efforts by Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel have focused on further expanding Nepal Telecom’s network services. As a result, the 4G service has been rolled out to areas including Tilicho lake in Manang, Talkot in Bajhang, and Marma in Darchula in recent months.
