Jajarkot: Telephone service which was obstructed for the past two weeks at Barekot in Jajarkot district has resumed after repair and maintenance. The disruption in service was caused by lightning on September 9, which damaged a Nepal Telecom tower at Ratankot of Barekot rural municipality-5.
According to National News Agency Nepal, more than 10,000 telecom service users faced difficulties, including exchanging family messages and managing daily activities due to the disruption. Prakash Man Singh, a local resident, expressed that the community is pleased with the resumption of the telephone service after the two-week obstruction.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, had directed relevant authorities to restore the telephone service promptly. In addition, locals have called on the Ministry to expand internet services, highlighting that the number of internet users in the municipality has increased to 22,000 from 12,000 since the establishment of the 4G tower by the telecom.
