Kathmandu: Thai AirAsia is preparing to resume its flight operations at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu and Gautam Buddha International Airport (GIA) in Bhairahawa starting November 3.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) had initially banned Thai AirAsia on September 27 for violating aviation regulations. The ban was lifted after the airline issued an apology and committed to following CAAN’s directives. Gyanendra Bhul, the Information Officer at CAAN, stated that Thai AirAsia will operate four flights per week to TIA and two flights to GIA. The lifting of the ban comes with a stipulation that if Thai AirAsia discontinues its flights to GIA, its permission to operate at TIA will be revoked.
