Sunsari: At least three persons were killed and 15 others were injured as two vehicles collided head on along the East-West Highway in Bhokraha Narsingha Rural Municipality-3 in Sunsari district. Yograj Khatiwada, the Spokesperson of District Police Office, Sunsari, reported that the accident occurred when a bus (Me 1 Kha 1799) traveling to Diktel from Kakadbhitta in Jhapa district collided with a micro bus (Province 2-01-001 Ja 0047) approaching from the opposite direction at 7:15 this morning.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed by police. The injured individuals have been transported to various hospitals in Inaruwa and Biratnagar for medical treatment. The bus driver, Gopal Adhikari of Arjundhara Municipality-1 from Jhapa, has been taken into custody by police. Further details regarding the accident are still pending.
