Kathmandu: Nepal is facing Chinese Taipei in today’s match in the ongoing Tri-National International Friendly Football Tournament here. The match is starting at 7:30 pm local time.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chinese Taipei is ranked 89th while Nepal holds the 42nd position in the FIFA women’s ranking. Chinese Taipei has a notable history in women’s football, having won the AFC Women Asian Cup consecutively in 1977, 1979, and 1981. They also participated in the International Women’s Championship in 1977.
Nepal, which began participating in international championships in 1986, has reached the Asian Cup but has only advanced to the group stage matches so far. Nepali team’s head coach, Nabin Neupane, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to win the match through excellent performance.
Captain of the Nepal National Women’s Football Team, Anjila Tumbapo Subba, also stated that team Nepal is physically and mentally prepared to secure a victory. However, under the current series, Nepal faced a setback by losing to Indonesia in the first match held on November 26.
