Yogyakarta: The women’s football teams of Nepal and Indonesia are playing the Tri-National International Friendly Match today at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Indonesia. The game is starting at 7:30 pm local time. This is the second time Nepal is facing Indonesia.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the two teams previously competed in Mandalay, Myanmar, during the second phase of the AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament. In that encounter, Nepal triumphed over Indonesia with a 2-1 victory.
Ahead of today’s match, Nepali team’s head coach Nabin Neupane expressed confidence, stating that the Nepali footballers are prepared and hopeful for a win. Neupane shared that the team is both physically and mentally ready for the challenge.
The Nepali women’s team will be without their captain, Sabitri Bhandari, also known as Samba, due to an injury. In her absence, Rashmi Kumari Ghising is scheduled to play, while Anjila Tumbapo Subba will assume the role of captain for the match.
The tournament features three teams: Nepal, Indonesia, and Chinese Taipei, and is set to conclude on December 2.
