Two College Students Killed in Rajbari Road Accident


Rajbari: Two college students were killed and another was injured when their motorcycle lost control over the steering in Rupiyat village on the Pangsha-Nangalbad road in Rajbari today. All three passengers met their tragic end while traveling on the same motorcycle. The accident occurred at 5 pm on Wednesday.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased were identified as Shuvo (19), son of Shariful Islam of Bagalia village in Sarisha union of Pangsha upazila, and Niloy (19), son of Milan of Swarnagara village in Mourat union of the same upazila. The injured was identified as Rifat (19), son of Manjur of Jagir Bagli village in Sarisha union. The trio were eleventh-grade students.



The three were returning home from Pangsha upazila town on a motorcycle. Shuvo was driving the motorcycle while Niloy and Rifat were his companions. The accident occurred when they reached Rupiyat Dakhil Madrasa and hit the wall of a madrasa at high speed.



They were critically injured and taken to the Pangsha Upazila Health Complex, where attending doctors declared Shuvo and Niloy dead. Asmat, a grocery shopkeeper and an eyewitness, said the accident happened due to the high speed of the motorcycle.



Dr. Anwarul Islam, the doctor in charge of the emergency department of Pangsha Upazila Health Complex, stated that three people were brought to the hospital at 5:30 pm. Among them, Niloy and Shuvo died on the way to the hospital. The injured Rifat’s condition is critical, and he was sent to Faridpur 250-bed hospital for better treatment.



A case was filed at Pangsha police station in this connection.
