Noakhali: At least two houses and 11 shops were destroyed in a fire that broke out at Hatiya last night. The blaze originated from a cosmetic shop due to an electric short circuit at Afazia Bazar in Shukchar union of the upazila around 11:45 p.m., according to local traders.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, after being informed, two units from the Hatiya Fire Service station promptly arrived at the scene. They managed to bring the fire under control after a challenging two-hour effort. Harun-Ar Rashid, an official from the Hatiya Fire Service station, confirmed the details of the firefighting operation.
