Two New Factories in Bangladesh Achieve LEED Certification


Dhaka: Two new factories in Bangladesh have received LEED certification as the country’s RMG industry continues its commitment to sustainable growth amidst a global economic downturn. The newly certified factories are TM Jeans Limited and Azmeri Composite Knit Limited. This development increases the total number of LEED-certified factories in Bangladesh to 235, with 94 achieving Platinum status and 127 receiving Gold status.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mohiuddin Rubel, former Director of BGMEA and Additional Managing Director of Denim Expert Ltd, highlighted that the consistent growth in LEED certifications demonstrates a proactive approach to sustainability and responsible manufacturing practices. He expressed confidence that through collaboration and dedication, Bangladesh’s RMG sector will achieve even greater milestones, reinforcing its position as a global leader in sustainable and ethical production.

TM Jeans Limited, located at Holding No 41, Ward No 22, Bahadurpur, Gazipur, Bangladesh,
has achieved a Platinum certification under the LEED BD+C: New Construction v4 rating system with 81 points. Meanwhile, Azmeri Composite Knit Limited, situated at 199, Faydabad, Uttarpara, Dokhinkhan, Dhaka, Bangladesh, has received a Gold certification under the same rating system with 63 points.
