Dubai: Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, the minister of health of the United Arab Emirates, today called on Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai. During the meeting, the minister expressed gratitude to the Chief Adviser for participating in the prestigious annual summit of top government leaders, noting that his presence has uplifted the gathering, according to a message received here.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the UAE health minister highlighted the importance of learning from global leaders like Professor Yunus and discussed various aspects of the WGS. He emphasized that the summit benefits from the experiences of individuals who have gathered from around the world.
The minister also acknowledged the Chief Adviser’s leadership of Bangladesh during a significant period in the country’s history. He expressed hope that the Bangladesh-UAE relationship would deepen during the tenure of the Interim Government, with both nations expanding trade, business, and health ties in the future.
Chief Adviser Professor Yunus remarked on his admiration for the UAE’s advancements in the health sector and its efforts in disease prevention. He extended his gratitude to the UAE for hosting over a million Bangladeshis. The meeting was attended by Touhid Hossain, Foreign Adviser; Lutfey Siddiqi, the Special Envoy of the Chief Adviser; and Lamiya Morshed, senior secretary and the chief SDGs coordinator.
