UML’s Secretariat Meeting Postponed Due to Natural Disasters

Kathmandu: A Secretariat meeting of the CPN (UML) scheduled for Sunday has been postponed due to the adverse situation in the wake of landslide, flood, and inundation following incessant rainfall. The 58th Secretariat meeting, originally set for Sunday, has been rescheduled for the coming Friday, according to Dr. Bhisma Adhikari, Secretary at the CPN (UML) Party Office.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the CPN (UML) central committee meeting has also been scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from October 13-15. Dr. Adhikari mentioned that the upcoming Secretariat meeting would determine further strategy and establish a new course of action for the party.

Earlier on September 28, the UML’s Secretariat meeting was held. In a message issued on Saturday, UML General-Secretary Shankar Pokhrel urged party leaders and cadres to engage in rescue efforts by coordinating with state bodies during natural disasters. He emphasized the need for preparedness, citing the possibility of landslides, floods, and inundation due to heavy rainfall. He also requested local party committees to collaborate with state bodies as necessary.
