UNDP Representative Meets Speaker Aryal to Discuss Digital Parliament Initiatives


Kathmandu: Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nepal, Kyoko Yokosuka, paid a courtesy call on Speaker Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar today. During the meeting, Speaker Aryal shared his special interest in the digitalization of the parliamentary process and affairs, emphasizing the ongoing preparations to move the Parliament towards a ‘paperless’ system.



According to National News Agency Nepal, UNDP Resident Representative Yokosuka expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the areas of capacity development of parliamentarians, women’s empowerment, and advancement of marginalized communities. She conveyed her readiness to assist through initiatives such as the creation of a digital parliament, collaboration with parliamentary committees, and experience exchange programs.
