Kathmandu: Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav emphasized the universal value of Mahaguru Falgunanda’s contributions to cultural identity and social reforms, advocating for their adoption across all religions and sects. His remarks came during a message of best wishes on the occasion of Falgunanda Jayanti, marking the birth anniversary of the revered Mahaguru.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Vice President Yadav underscored the relevance of the ‘Satya Dharma Muchulka’, or the Charter of Edicts on True Religion, formulated by Mahaguru Falgunanda. He highlighted key social and cultural reforms proposed in the Muchulka, such as the prohibition of dowry, the abstinence from animal sacrifices, alcohol, and meat, and the simplification of death rituals to three days. These principles, he suggested, are applicable and beneficial to all communities.
Vice President Yadav further noted that the ideals and righteous path championed by Mahaguru Falgunanda serve as a guiding light for Nepalese society. He cal
led on the people to use the occasion of Falgunanda Jayanti to preserve the rich history and traditions of the Kirant community, thereby enhancing national unity and social consciousness.
In his concluding remarks, Vice President Yadav expressed hope that the commemoration of Falgunanda’s birth anniversary would inspire Nepalese citizens to advance the nation’s development while upholding values of integrity, goodwill, tolerance, and unity.
