Vietnam’s Vice-President Xuan Engages in Diplomatic Dialogue with Nepal’s President Paudel


Kathmandu: Visiting Vice-President of Vietnam, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel today. During the meeting held at Sheetal Niwas, President Paudel emphasized the substantial potential to enhance economic relations through trade, tourism, investment, and technology transfer between Nepal and Vietnam.



According to National News Agency Nepal, President Paudel expressed Nepal’s willingness to expedite bilateral collaboration in these areas. He highlighted Nepal’s focus on socio-economic transformation in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, production, and hydropower through increased investment. Additionally, he noted that Buddhism serves as a cultural bridge between the people of Nepal and Vietnam, with Lumbini being a significant destination for many Vietnamese pilgrims.



On her part, Vice-President Xuan suggested that Nepal should develop a broader framework for relations between the two countries before 2030. This recommendation aligns with Nepal’s goal to become a middle-income country by 2030, while Vietnam aims to achieve high-income status by 2045. She also highlighted potential collaboration in culture, sports, and tourism, and expressed admiration for Nepal’s efforts in maintaining peace and addressing climate change challenges.
