The West Zone of Bangladesh Railway to get a
rail bhaban with modern facilities along with scopes of bringing all its
administrative offices under a single roof.
With this breakthrough, dynamism into the administrative and operational
activities will come together with contributing a lot towards earning
revenues.
These were exposed in the No. 1 sub-committee meeting of the Parliamentary
Standing Committee on Ministry of Railways here today.
Before the meeting with railway officials at West Zone Railway Bhaban, the
committee members visited the existing infrastructures and offices to see for
themselves the activities.
Prof Shafiqur Rahman Badsha, MP, Muhammad Saiful Islam, MP, Nurun Nahar
Begum, MP, Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Joint Secretary Tarique Mahmud, Joint
Secretary of Railways Ministry Hassan Mahmud, West Zone Railway General
Manager Ahmed Hossain Mahmud and Chief Engineer Asadul Haque joined the
meeting.
Mentionable, the existing administrative offices of the west zone railway
remaine
d in scattered ways and separate places. Some of the offices are also
tin sheds hampering the administrative and operational activities badly.
To remove the odd situation, there is an urgent need of establishing a new
railway bhaban with modern facilities and amenities, the meeting added.
