Wild Elephant Attack Claims Life of Woman in Kanchanpur


Kanchanpur: A woman was trampled by a wild elephant at Syaule of Bhimdutta Municipality-14 in Kanchanpur district.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Sagar Bohara, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, reported that 45-year-old Dhana Bista was killed in the early hours during an attack by a wild tusker originating from the Shuklaphanta National Park.



Bista was critically injured while attempting to flee her residence, which was being demolished by the elephant. Despite being swiftly transported to the Mahakali Provincial Hospital for treatment, she succumbed to her injuries.



In response to the incident, a team from the Nepali Army stationed at Shuklaphanta National Park, along with a police unit from a nearby area, has been deployed to conduct rescue operations amidst the ongoing elephant threat in the local community.
