Woman Killed Due to Elephant Attack.


Butwa Rangi: An elderly woman died due to an attack by an elephant today at Butwa Rangi village, Ward No 11 of Phatuwa-Bijayapur Municipality in Rautahat district. Seventy-year-old Patali Tamang died this morning when the tusker attacked her while she was sleeping at her home, said Indramani Adhikari, the Police Inspector of Area Police Office Bijayapur.

According to National News Agency RSS, the wild elephant suddenly attacked the elderly woman, resulting in her instantaneous death, while her husband escaped unscathed. The attack also left their house fully damaged, and a neighboring house suffered damage as well.

Teams from the district-based Nepal Police, the Division Forest Office, and the Armed Base Camp Bijayapur have reached Butwa Rangi village and have begun further investigation, police said.
